Encore piercing primers
« on: February 10, 2003, 12:33:48 PM »
I recently bought a 20 ga. slug barrel for my Encore and about six different brands of slugs to try in it.  One brand is Lightfield.  I shot three rounds of lightfield ammo and the primer was pierced on shots two and three, after the second one i stopped shooting them.  Five rounds of Winchester BRI slugs fired fine.
I called Lightfield today to complain, and before I could tell him what kind of gun I was shooting, he said it's an Encore right?
According to this guy, the Encore has a "rifle" firing pin and the profile will pierce primers on shotgun shells, depending on what type of primer the shotgun shell has.
Now what do I do with 12 rounds of Lightfield slugs I can't shoot?

IMO,

If all other brands of slugs work fine, I'd call back and raise &*().
