yes.....i do put a slight bend in the washers to match the barrel contour on the encore.....as close as i can anyway. i just take 2 sets of pliers placed nose to nose in the center of the washer, then bend as best you can. only takes a small amount. :wink: especially if you use washers that are small and fit the screw correctly.
on one composite forend, i just use the washers flat. i then put a piece of masking tape over it to somewhat hold it in place when removing the forearm. i suppose you could also glue them in place.
some sanding on the insides of the forearm may also help to get clearance. i use a "socket" that is close to barrel size. then wrap some sandpaper around it. i try to remove material from the sides usually.......not the bottom of the channel.
