Sounds like fun. Are there different classes of cartridges? What distance do we shoot at, and what is the deadline to submit an entry?

The sticky has a closing date of Oct.1.  Is there a plan to have a spring competition?  If so, I'm in with the .223 and the .17hmr.
My prayers are always answered,  sometimes the answer is no...........

I really want to enter my 223 but it all depends on when the deadline is. I haven't read up on anything about it yet so I'm not yet educated on the match.
My gun isn't quite broken in yet (75 rounds fired) so I suspect better accuracy once broken in. Right now I get 9/16" to 5/8" groups at 100y. I forgot to mention the gun has no mods.

We'll see :-)

I plan on entering with my .223, 17hmr, and possibly a .270  when the weather clears.

The post noted by Quick has a closing date of October 2004 so I suspect we need to update that.

i think all the rules were left the same and the new scorer was Mitchell

3 shot groups for slugguns at 50yds

5 shot  groups for rimfire at 50yds

i was thinking that all pistol calibers were shot at 50yds?dont remember? and they were 5 shot groups

all the rest of the centrefires were shot at 100yds,5 shot groups

all the targets are shot on a file card.you draw an x from corner to corner and you can put a small dot in the center to aim at

this is about it as far as rules if i remember right.have i missed something?

Didn't the 17hmr get changed to 100yds? Seems to me it would not be fair at 50yds against other rimfires, cept maybe the 17M2.

I will be happy to enter with the Huntsman muzzle loader and the 30-30 and 223, get me the dates and the rules. Will you post this on the Huntsman Form and Shotgun form?

The rules are in the sticky at the top of this forum list. I think the cutoff was Memorial day, IIRC.

I will probably try it if the weather up north here warms up enough to get out to the range more. It was only 14 here today with snow and wind. :(
shot placement is everything.

I think Jeff is right on the rules and Quick is right on the cut off date.  And Mitchel was going to grade the cards.  That is how I remember it anyway.  Which can sometimes be dangerous, my memory, if I remember right.

I also thought that the set the range for the 45/70 to 50 yards, but that might just be my poor mind wishing for warmer weather!

17HMR was moved out to 100 yards and the 45/70 was moved IN to 50 yards.  The cut off date was moved to Memorial day and Mitchell is doing the grading this time instead of me

I thought we updated all of that in the sticky, but I guess we didn't.

Oh yeah, Jeff has to shoot his .223 from 300 yards

I will definitely shoot in this match. 223, 270, 44 mag, and 450 marlin.
Is the 450 at 50 yards too.

I found this it might help a bit.
