question on Colt grip frames
« on: March 14, 2005, 05:04:16 AM »
Got to shoot my 51 navy's and 60 army's yesterday. Cleaned all 4 and put em back together and noticed I had a 60 army barrel/cylinder on a navy backstrap and grip. Swapped it over and did it right but got to thinking. Can ya swap a navy grip on a 60 army and shoot em that way? I find the navy grip better for duelist and the army better for two handed shootin. If ya can do it, it opens up possibilities.

Yup....but don't expect a perfect fit, especially with the wood.  Try to use parts for the same make gun, ie. Pietta to Pietta, Uberti to Uberti, although you can get lucky once in awhile.  I have fit ASM frames to Piettas and the other way around.   Some did and some didn't.
