223 and spherical powders
« on: March 14, 2005, 11:53:21 PM »
What spherical powders are you guys using in your 223 with a 55gr pill with good accuracy?
I'm looking at Hodgdon BL-C (2), H335, and 2230. Are these any good in the accuracy department?

The reason for the spherical powder is, I will be running my final load threw the 550 and don’t want any bridging problems that can/will happen with extruded powders. And spherical is easy to work with in the 550.

Thanks Warf

I have excellent results with H-335. Also have used W-748 but its a lot more temperature sensitive.  KN

I have had great success with H335 and Nosler BT 55 gr in my new Savage 10 FP. I have not been able to get any other 55 gr bullet to group near as good.

If you install a JDS Quick Measure on your 550 you can use extruded powers and eliminate the bridging with their innovtive bridge breaker. you can get one at www.quick-measure.com you can also change charges in less than 30 seconds with their interchangeable adjustable charge tubes.
get from www.quick-measure.com :-)
