 Now if I told you you'd just kick my rear with it later on in the postal match.

But if you can get it to shoot that good that makes me a proxy winner.

  Here it is:
 Hornady 110 spire point SP
 41gr w748
 WLRP
 COL 2.740"
 FC Brass
That was the last group of the day and all five shots were taken under 3 minutes. My rifle seems to like a hot barrel.

No, I haven't tried those. Let me know what you come up with. My sb2 seems to prefer flat base bullets over the boat-tail.

I gave Badnews Bob a box of those 110gr Vmaxs just a few weeks ago, I couldn't get them to shoot out of my Ruger 30-06.

Another great load recipe and group from the masterful R.V. and his superb little 30-30 Handi. Good going there bud!  :agree: Looks like the perfect load to try in my 30-30 for the upocoming prarie dog shoot. Wonder how far out that group would hold.

Masterful? Thats funny, but thanks. I'm sure it's the blind hog finding an acorn.

As far as the range, it is a fairly short bullet, so I would think it might tumble down range at some point.

I plan on trying it at 200 yards as soon as I can find 200 yards.
I expect its cooking along close to 2700fps. I'll find out for sure in a week or so.

Nice lil cluster there RV...I wish I could get a load to shoot that well with any weight of bullet...  I'm beginning to think to get a one hole group I'm going to have to stick the barrel up against the target... :-D

A one hole group is easy to attain, just stop shooting after the first shot!!!! :-D

I've got a full box of these setting in my gun room right now. I'd be real interested to know how that 200 yd. test comes out and what wind conditions were. At 2700 fps and with a steady crosswind, at 150 yds. or so I figure the little bullet will start to be drastically effected. Would really like for it to hold good energy and trajectory out to 200 tho.

Been sidetracked by cast bullet experiments in the .30-30, so I won't be back in the jacketed stuff until I get a Post card ready with cast bullets. I still haven't found 200 yards yet either.
  Hopefully soon.
