Why yes!!  Didn't you know?  We are all walking around with a .40 hole in our leg!!!

While we are at it....

So as you can see, it can happen to anyone  DEA Agent, Father, Cat and a Solider.  Anyone can be stupid for half a second and point a gun where it does not belong, put a finger on the trigger when they are not supposed to and think a gun is unloaded when it really isn't.

None of that shows the typical gun owners aptitude with small arms

I'll bet that police officer was "suspended with pay" for quite awhile!  ("Suspended with pay" sounds suspiciously like "vacation" to me!!)

Yup, this video has been making some rounds on the net.  I keep telling my friends over and over that the average policeman is not some migic gun handler.  The average cop is no better trained than the average "civilian" shooter.  Trained cops wouldnt empty their "hi capacity" guns, reload and shoot some more at a suspect standing on a doorstep like they did in NY.  Its not like the "old" days where marksmanship was very important to police (but those were also the day of the measly old six shooter  :) .)
So no, cops are no better than you or I.  Sure there are some cops that would shame ANY civilian shooter, but then again there are civilians that would shame 99% of the cops out there.

The latest drip on this sad story is that the DEA is after the guy who let the video clip slip out to the public because the DEA officer has been "outed" and supposedly is now in danger.  WHATTA CROCK!!

The question in my mind is if the officer was "undercover" why was he doing public gun safety (or whatever) demonstrations?

1st this is why you don't use live guns for demos. 2nd its easy to sit here now and say  the NY officers should have done this or that. If you had all the facts you would see that the NY officers responed to events that they encountered. I read the report and spoke to investigators and can understand why this played out as it did.Could it have been done differently sure and I should have invested in microsoft

The funny part about the video is how he was telling the class how he was the only with the training to handle a gun safely, and then goes for the holster with his finger on the trigger.  An unexpected gunshot is the loudest sound I have ever heard.

I take it the gun was empty, but, the clip was full and when he released the slide to "WOW" the little kiddys in the class room it slipped his mind that the gun just loaded a round and he went to "dry fire" it to relase the hammer not knowing that the clip was full.

Just who I want saving my life a nother dumb undereducated, over power hungry cop.<--------------that last state ment was only MHO. Im not tryn to  of end any of the good law enforcement officers we have that put there life on the line, so, my family can have a better/safer place to live, work, and go to school.
