did anyone here end up rechambering their 44mags to 445 super mag?i remember reading somehing about it some time ago.if so who had the reamer?im sure the rechambering job went well just like rechambering the 357 mag to MAX.ive been thinking :biggun:

I rechambered mine, and it was a piece of cake to do. The accuracy of the 44 mag was unchanged,and the 445 shoots about the same as the 44 mag accuracy wise. The only thing to change was the velocity,the 240 gr. Rem. bullets at 2128 fps.and the 300 gr.XTP's at 1977 avg. And I'm still a little off the max loads. I've got some 265 gr. Hornadys loaded now but hav'nt chrono'ed them yet. They are shooting about 2 1/2 " at 100 yds.and thats good enough for the hogs I'm hunting now. I suspect they will be doing around 2050 fps. or better. Digger

thanks i will keep that in mind.how much is the rental fee?i rented a reamer from leftoverdj awhile ago when i rechambered a 357mag contender barrel to MAX.im thinking about rechambering a 44 mag contender barrel to 445 super mag.im thinking it will be a good heavy hitter.not quite a 45-70 but close.

i never rented mine so is 20 bucks plus shiping and insurance ok???i lost a mold in maila couple <3>weeks ago.so now im doing the insurance thing.....jb

I have also considered this round. I am assuming it is as easy as the max was. If I can get a barrel would you rent the reamer to other's. I used DJ's reamer for the max as well. Was a good little system we used, one guy then the next, then the next, then the next.

i would also be interested in renting the reamer.
What all do you have to do to ream it out.
How can you tell we you have went far enough?

Maybe the reamers could make it to the PD shoot. Maybe the BS flowing there would be enough lubrication. :-D
