What's your favorite fishery?
« on: March 18, 2005, 03:03:55 AM »
I was wondering what your favorite place/stream is to go fly fishing?  What makes it your favorite?  If you have several favorites, break them down by fish species.

Thanks,

Jim

I go to the north georgia mountains sometimes for hatchery trout, but my favorite is bluegills on my hand tied spiders.

When I go fishing it's usually one of two places.  The Meremac River or Little Piney Creek, both here in Missouri.  They both harbor 'bows, browns and all the sunfishes native to Missouri.  Both also have good smallmouth populations.  I chose both because they're less than 20 miles from the house.

I pick my neighborhood purely because of it proximity to the Bow River (Calgary). Lots of 20" plus browns, rainbows  and good size whitefish. Funny even though it's only 20 min front door to fishing I don't think I fish enough.
