Yesterday I picked up a 22 for my boys its a Winchester Cooey Model 39. It is a smaller single shot bolt action. The Cooey name is a common Canadian gun maker from the 50's and 60' winchester bought them in 61 and continue production till 79.
Now it came with a standard v-notch rear sight, but at the shop I seen another cooey single (standard size so it was too big) it had what looked like a williams peep rear and a hooded lyman front sight. That struck me as a real good idea to get a little more accuracy out of the gun. I looked at the williams site but oddly enough the guns no listed (not that I had expected it to be).
What I was wondering is there a generic sight that could be mounted. Or one that goes on a round receiver on the side. At this point I am not sure where to continue my search. The gun itself is not really worth much but it has at least 6 years of use in my house before the boys out grow it. So I think the expense could be worth it.
At this point I am not sure where to continue the search.
