A friend gave me 200 once fired MAGTECH - CBC .44 Special Brass cases from Cowboy Action Loads for re-loading.
There is a fine pressed in dotted line around all the brass cases about 1/3 the way down from the mouth of the case. I find that when I re-size the brass cases with my RCBS .44 Spcl./.44 Mag. die, I end up with a slight bulge all the way around the case just under this dotted line. When I use my bell die just enough to straighten out the case mouth (but not enough to bell the mouth) this bulge becomes more pronounced.
After this sizing and straightening I find that when I re-size the case to get the bulge out I can feel a "bump" as the slightly bulged brass enters the die.
Are these MAGTECH - CBC brass cases different and in need special attention more so than normal brass cases without the pressed in dotted lines?
Thanks - J.Solo
