I am considering a turret press for my rifle ammo loading. I use a Lee turret for pistols, and have found this to be ok. My ? is is the Redding T-7 worth the extra cost over the RCBS turret press? The press price is close, but when you add those turrets? I am a happy camper with my old Rock Chucker which has served me well. But!!!!

I just got the RSBC this week. I haven't done a whole lot with yet. So far what I have done I am very happy with it. I really like the way it primes. I got it a MIDAWAY for 309.00 + shipping.

PS- their catalog shows it for 339.00, the web site has it at 309.00

The Redding has served me well for alot of years... got 4 extra turrets and don't do any "die adjusting" for those calibers!!! Having said that my buddy just got a smokin' deal on an older lyman (T-Mag I think??) He likes it alot... I guess that a turret is a turret and they are handy.. Marty

I've got the RCBS Turret press and I'm quite satisfied with the loads. I'm sure some of the others will do fine also. Be sure and get a good solid one so you won't get any wobble, in the turret mechanism.

I will be bold enough to admit ownership of the Lyman T mag turret press.
Have only one turret and I dont think it is too big of a deal to change out dies.
You do have abit of slack here but it is built into the design so everything will line up correctly when you pull the lever. I have operated this in sequence and can be fast & fun. Now a day's, I find myself alot more particular and will operate it like a single stage. In fact, if I were to purchase another press it would probably be a single stage. Even after seeing a friends 650 Dillon work.

I went with the Redding. I like the solid support at the back of the turret, the height of the frame opening, the tube that can be used to collect or direct spent primers into a garbage can, and the 7 die stations. I bought mine only a few months ago for $174, but now I see prices have gone up. Midway had them on sale not too long ago for under $180.

The RCBS seems to offer more accesories, if that interests you, and I would expect it to be an excellent reloading press. Coin flipping time?

I use the RCBS and really like it. But I certainly would not hesitate to buy a Redding either. I don't think that you can beat a turret press. In my mind it is so much faster than the regular presses where you have to keep switching your dies out. Also RCBS has been so good when I have called them with questions etc... that I like to give them my business.

I use my Lee turret for both rifle and pistol. It seems to give me the groups I like.

I load .223, .220 Swift, 30-06, and 7-30 Waters in rifle.

Give it a try before buying another press.

Have had cast iron turrets in the past. Have seven different press' at present. Have had Lee turret for over twenty five years. Have 11 turrets set up; more ready. Use the Lee. Loads fine rifle ammo. Cast iron accomplishes nothing the Lee won't except add weight and take up space. My most used, handiest press. I do not use the auto advance.

ive been happy with my rcbs turret press ive had for about 3 yrs. i use it as a single stage for reloading rifle , and my only complaint is that i do not like the primer system.
