Fallkniven S1

I am considering trading in some unused knives towards the S1.  I have little experince with Fallkniven blades, however I have yet to see the S1 in person.  This knife would be for hunting and camping.  So what are the opoins from you guys about the S1 or the Fallkniven line?  
I use to have the G1 Garm and I gave it to a friend who is in Iraq.

All of their knives are supposed to be top of the line from what I"ve read.  I have started to blatently copy some of their designs(F1 included) but using other materials/steels.  VG-10 is supposed to be a great steel which unfortunately isn't available to the average knifemaker.  If I was to ever buy another factory knife, my two choices would be one of the Falkniven's and/or a Grohman.

Last year I corresponded with them. Excluding the unreasonably expensive Cowry X Damascus stainless blade, I don't have as high an opinion of Fällkniven knives as does Joel.

These are not custom knives; they're production knives. Unless something has changed from last year, Fällkniven does not actually make the knives. They are the brand name. Knives are made under contract. I do not know if one contractor makes all Fällkniven knives. Where are they made? Without searching my archives, I want to say Japan, but don't hold me to it.

VG10 steel is not "best-of breed." It is a good knife steel, comparable to 154CM and ATS-34.

Laminating the VG10 with, I believe AISI 420, again don't hold me to this, significantly improves its ductility.

I'm not nearly as negative about Fällkniven knives as I have written. I believe they are excellent knives -- just not good value knives.
