ejector to extractor?

Just index a few and see if you get better results, before you do a whole bunch.

Even though I have a near perfect chamber in my 257R Handi, I indexed all my new cases with a Dremel tool. I did this also for the 25-06 Ultra. Indexing is an accuracy enhancing and case saving feature. However slight benefits may be.

Because the standing breech and the end of the barrel on a Handi could be on a bias, you would not see that, but you can measure it with dial gage setup. This bias would cause the the base of the case to become out of square.

By indexing, the base would always align itself with the standing breech and would slow down case lengthening. I admit that this is very hypothetical and is ordinarely not done with hunting ammo.

High power shooters index their cases because case walls are not the same all around and that has an effect on the powder burn alignment.
It has been prooven that indexing provides a slight edge in acuracy.

As a matter of fact some precision shooters measure the case walls just ahead of the pressure ring and discard cases that vary more than 0.002"
in case wall thickness.

I shot the gun again today.  I dropped my charge to 26 grains, and I didn't get any stuck cases.  Problem solved.  I only get 3,050 f/s, but it will have to do.

extraction problems

Forgive me if I missed this somewhere in this thread.  For calibers for which they are available, using small base sizing dies helps with this problem.  They are available for .223, .308 and .30-06 that I know of.
