Encore- trigger/hammer "feel"
« on: March 20, 2005, 04:56:30 PM »
My encore hammer feels funny when I bring it back.  It's kinda rough and has a "catch" or passes a groove or something (hard to explain) right before it locks.  Then, when I fire it, it drops and clicks once, and then clicks even more so when I let off of the trigger and let it go forward to normal position.  I can also feel this in the trigger when I let it go forward.  Does any of this make sense or sound normal for one of these Encore pistols?   Thanks,  Derek.

Derek,
I just noticed the same thing on a friends Encore the other day. This particular specimen had a really good trigger, but had the same funky feel you describe. I guess it is characteristic for the model.

That is part of the hammer block safety system. You have to hold the trigger back all the way until the round fires. This is the #1 reason for T/C misfires.
