flat point bullets are the norm for the 30/30.  anyone used any other type of bullets?  do the expand at 30/30 speeds?  thanks for any input.

I use all types of .308 bullets in my NEF .30-30.
The Nosler, ballistic tip and the hornady sst should be fine loaded to the maximum .30-30 velocity. The seirra 150 SP shoots well but the .30-30 velocity is not quite what Sierra recommends for big game.

I have used Barnes and Hornady 130 grain bullets and have excellent results in both accuracy and game killing ability. The Hornady was the 130 grain SSSP or single shot pistol bullet.

We just had a thread about 30-30 loadings with pointed type bullets that you might want to use the search feature to locate. I would do that for you but I cannot cut and paste on GBO's forums as I have AOL and AOL is not condusive for good bulletin board computing............Chainsaw
