Leupold or Burris scope mounts for weatherby vanguard?
« on: March 21, 2005, 12:36:56 AM »
I purchased a vanguard at wal-mart a few months back for 200.00 and now looking to mount a monarch 3X9X40 scope on it. I need a little help in deciding between the leupold DD and the burris DD signature zee rings or should i just use standard rings. Please help me decide

Thanks Ed

If you're going to install them properly i.e. linebore the rings, go with the Leupolds as they're stronger. If you don't want to do that go with the Burris as they won't hurt your scope if they're off a bit.

I have the vanguard  in a short action and plan on mounting my 3-9x40 Monarch in Weatherby low vanguard rings...These rings incidentally(Talley) come as standard equipment on New Ultra Light ARms rifles and are very strong and light and eliminate a lot of problems you'll have with other ring systems.
