Anyone use one of these for deer hunting? I have one coming and wanted to use it for dogs n deer. Just wondering if the larger bullets that I'd use for deer will stabilize?
Thanks

My mother uses this cal for deer, she is 79 now, and has had good sucess on deer and hogs. I load the Nosler Partition 95gr in hers and it works very well using Varget powder. She has had complete penetration on all animals so far.
Hope this helps

I have one, and i love it. It has a good managable recoil, and does a nice job taking dear. I use 100gr, seem to do fine.

The 243 and Varget powder team up very well. I can not begin
to count the bucks that have fallen to my .243. The 95 and 100
grain bullets will pass right through on most broadside shots. The combination has taken several elk humanely as well but would not recommend the cartridge for anything bigger than a black bear. A big blackie would be pushing it.
Be careful and check twice
