I've cast these for 40 years, this is my favorite 30 caliber bullet. In my 30/30 Martini bench rifle and M54 Winchester with 14.5/IMR4227or 12-12.5/AA#9, Rem 2 1/2 primers sized .311 it shoots great. No gas checks in the Martini, it's won matches over the past 12 years since the gun was new. Both rifles average slightly over an inch for 5 shots at 100 yards. In 03 Springfields, and Engels & Troelsch bull gun -both 30/06, in M40X Rem, Ruger #1 and Savage Tactical-all 300 WM this bullet shot as well or better than any other. With or without the gas check (low velocity) or with the gas check at higher velocities, it shoots very well.
Yesterday in 90 degrees, windy and gusty, bright sun to rain, in the Martini with AA#9, 100 yard 5-shot groups were 1.3", .75", 1.4", .825"--average 1.069"
I get almost as good results with 31141, have never tried 311284 but want to, 311291 has never shot as well in any rifle, and 311413 is just impossibly bad.
Good Luck;
joe b.

Thank you my friend. I foresee a new mold in the makings.
