My Pre model 14 is a 1950 "Target Masterpiece" and it is possibly the most accurate Smith and Wesson in my world.

That being said I would wager that a 586 could shoot as well, with a little work and practice.  

I like the K frame target guns for 38 wadcutters, it will be hard to beat.
