I have an older Japan built Monarch ATB 8x40 that has served me well for several years, now....I highly recommend them, great glass for the $250 I paid for them.

Nikon has excellent optics - period. That said, they have excellent scopes and binos too. I also have a pair of the same binos (or should I say "had" a pair becuase a friend of mine liked them so much, that he just kept them.

Both of my boys have Nikon's. I think, espcially for the money, that they are a very good binoc.

I agree with everyone else. I bought the same binoculars from Jon a few months ago and am very happy with them. I think they are as good as you will get in that price range.
