first off I have never hunted turkeys but am thinking about it.  Since pattern density seems to be the big issue.  Why not use 7 1/2's.  Lots of guys talk about not shooting past 35 or 40 yards.  I can't imagin that 5 or more pellets in the head / neck can't kill a turkey even using 7 1/2's and they should patter very well out of all of your turkey guns.

4s,5s and 6s work for me.no 7 1/2s out there for the 10ga guns

Check your state's hunting regulations. That could determine what you can use. #4-#6 is all that is allowed in my state.

7.5's will work as long as you pattern your shotgun and know were the densist part of your load will impact...then just shoot them in the face the rest will bounce off of Tommy's body armor.... here in NY we can use no smaller than 8's no bigger than 2's.... I prefer 6's.....MTNMAN :wink:

Here in Maryland its no smaller then #6 and no larger then #4 for turkey.

I guess I didn't even realize  there were shot size restrictions.  Maybe I better look over the MI regulations.  I was just wondering if turkey hunters were becoming like some of the modern day rifle hunters you know - you need magnum calibers now cause the old .30-.30's just bounce off deer
