I was given a bow....
« on: March 25, 2005, 02:32:19 PM »
Just let me start by saying I am in the Air Force. It is not all that common for another Airman to leave for Overseas and give things away because he could not take them with him. Recently I was given a Bear Yukon Compound Bow. It looks like the guy never shot it. For free it works great. I bought a release, new string, 5 pin sight, peep sight, rest and new carbon arrows. The thing shoots great for what I put into it. I was just wondering if anyone out there has the same bow and might know when it was made. I also would like to know if Bear has a website. Thanks for all the help, maybe you guys can make a bowhunter out of me.

I've only seen one other Bear bow my entire life and my friend had this stupid crosshair sight on it that made the setup crap. I've never shot one nor owned one. To the best of my knowledge, there is no website avaliable. I tried finding it to look up his bow, with to no avail  .
Best of luck on the new bow and God bless!  :D

The first thing I did is remove that stupid crosshair sight. I bought a much better sight. I shot it yesterday, it shoots great. I only have $150 in the free bow.

Cam,

That's for Fred Bear bows. This bow is just "Bear". No Fred with it. Sadly or not  .  :D

Oh it's bein a pain :) .

No actually I just accidentally ordered it in the wrong draw length and now I need to get a new module in order to decrease the length. I have managed to lose $21 in arrows (3 ST Axis's), but that's not the bows fault. So...I guess I can say it's doin good. What do you got for a bow? I forget. It's been a while since you've checked in. Glad to hear you're back for a bit.  :D

Well fish I hunted this past year with my ole trusty Hoyt Vortech...But I now have a new addition to my hunting stable...Bowtech's patriot dually...Bugger is fast as lightning and actually quite forgiving for a short axle to axle bow...With my setup Im gettin 308 fps at 70#'s so I dont think ill be complaining to much...lol I have a feeling my ole vortech is gonna be a lil sad this year...naaaa Ill make sure she gets a lil blood on her too  I was gonna get bowtech's black diamond (fastest production bow made) But it was just a lil too short on the brace height for my liking...Been a long time since I shot a dually but bowtech has REALLY solved the noise probs that were pretty much inherant with a dual cam bow (at high poundage ) Hell I have to look at the target to make sure it shot its so darn quiet. Ifn ya need help with that PSE gimmi a holler
