:DHi all, I was looking at a S&W 40 cal. revolver today through the show case glass at a gun shop and didn,t get to ask about it, does anyone know the model number?I can,t find it on the S&W site,it was stainless with about a 4" barrel.Thanx.

You are refering to a modle 646. This was a special run Smith and Wesson made a few years ago. I found mine at moonclips.com I believe last year. It's a dandy good shooting gun. I've always liked revolvers that take moonclips and I also like the idea of having semi-autos and revolvers that shoot the same round. The 646 also came with a titanium cylinder.
