I don't think you can go wrong with either, it just depends on which has the features you like the best. I'm partial to Mueller and I have more of them, buy my Trophy is a fine scope, too! Which models are you comparing??

I was looking at the mueller in 3-10x44 without red dot and the trophy 3-9x40. The trophy is about $40 less then the mueller, not sure about feature diffs.

Check where the Trophy is made today... Back in 2000, I bought a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 that says "Korea" on it. It's image is clear and is plenty bright enough to shoot in the woods during legal shooting hours.

Actually, there's a bit more difference in price, and I know Jon has excellent prices. Jon also has free shipping on his Mueller internet orders.
The Mueller has some excellent features, is fully multi-coated compared to the trophy's multi-coating, has Japanese glass and components, but it also costs more.... Just depends on what you want and how much you want to pay for those features. FWIW, the trophy is made in the Philippines.

If you have a sports authority in your neck of the woods you may want to check them out. I noticed that the local store had Trophy 3-9x40's on clearance for $69.99.
