CVA Owners???

Will a CVA perfect nipple with 6X1mm threads fit a TC Renegade or TC System One breechplug?  This is CVA part #AC1422W if you have a current CVA book I would appreciate checking on this for me.

I wondered about the metric vs american threads. One of the gunsmiths I use said it would fit, but again I wasn't sure.  There is a good deal on these perfect nipples on ebay right now if you have a rifle that they will fit.
Thanks.

Trust this,,
NEVER GO TO "THAT" GUNSMITH AGAIN!!

using the wrong threaded nipp in any BP firearm could/will result the nip blowing back in your face! man,,bad thing!!

scares awful,,seen it.

I was told on another site that CVA does make these nipples in 1/4X20 for TC rifles. That must have been what my gunsmith was talking about.
Never hurts to ask. I have used several CVA products and they are working for me, just don't own any of their guns.

If I remember correctly they will screw in and APPEAR to fit BUT only because they are slightly smaller than the 1/4 20 thread. I may have that confused with another nipple but if not it will make a nice projectile not going in the direction you want !!!

I have heard this very same thing.

I have no clue as to the truth of the above situation, but I do know of one such experience where the pressure on the threads of the nipple "supposingly" welded it's self to the bolster requiring it to be re-tapped....I do think this was the same situation, but I don't remember the details.   :money:

:) Well Tacks, I guess I was passing on "second hand information" because I was repeating something I had been told, and not witnessed myself, and you are right, I shouldn't have done that.

But, I would suspect that is about the most you could accuse me of.
