I have an old Revelation rifle made by Savage, model 235-B. Been trying to find scope bases to fit it, so far no luck.  It has a round reciever and a flat back. Does anyone know of a company making bases for this model? 110 bases wont work!! Also have had no luck finding a savage model 235-B rifle. Numrich list it as a shotgun...

I don't find a Revelation 235 but the Revelation 225 and 230 were both Savage M340.  You need to look these house brand guns up in a 'store brand Cross reference'.   I will include a link to a parts blow up of a 340 for you to verify if indeed that's what you have.

Probably not a 340 knockoff, the 340 had a split rear reciever bridge and requires a side mount.

I found nothing else listed in the store brands xref but Savage did make a M40 and a M45 Super.  These were bolt action centerfire rifles.  I've not seen very many but when I looked in Brownells i found bases(Weaver) available. If it is a M40/45 I would seriously reconsider drilling holes in it to mount a scope as these have become fairly serious collector items..  Below is a link to a parts blowup of a M40(the 45 is very similar).

Revelation/Savage 235

Thanks for the feed back. The rifle is stamped Revelation, then Savage Arms model 235-B . 243 cal. I have a model 340, and they are nothing alike. The model 235-B is drilled and taped for scope bases/mounts from the factory. I have had it for 30+ years, decided to unpack it and set it up for target/varment shooting. I have contacted savage arms and a couple of small arms parts dealers. As with you, no one has ever heard of a model 235 savage. Have tried to cross reference to Revelation with no luck. I am about ready to give up and put it back in mothballs and let the grandkids worry about it. If anyone does happen to come across anything to help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I would bet the rifle is a M40 or 45 savage.  These rifles are fairly rare but Brownells still lists bases(weaver) for scope mounting.  Try a call to Brownells Tech line and provide info on hole spacing..  Free call and worth a try.  Don't believe the 40/45's were made in 243 but it could well have been re-barreled...

I have the same rifle.  It is scoped using a leopold weaver mount that I bought at the local Academy.  It is two seperate pieces that screw in to the holes in the top.  I don't know if your still interested, but stumbled upon this looking for a new magazine spring for mine.
