I have convinced myself to get a 7600 rifle. The open sights won't line up. I want the synthetic stock. IF I move up the rear ramp sight to a line with the front post will this take care of the problem or will it not sight in properly? I know I can change the stock to a 1100 stock but was trying not to. If I end up changing the stock will the scope line up ok? Open sights are for back up if the scope breaks.

I’m not sure what you mean when you say the sights won’t line up. My brother had a problem with his 7400 (see my post here titled “Can’t sight in a new 7400”). Remington replaced his stock with a synthetic 1100 stock which was not a Monte Carlo style stock. Your question about using the stock with a scope, I am assuming, is directed at the fact that the 1100 stock may not be a Monte Carlo style stock…?
In my opinion, the 7600 performs better with a regular style stock for open sights, and it performs better with a scope using a Monte Carlo stock. If your primary purpose will be to use a scope, then stick with the Monte Carlo stock and use a different height front sight (assuming that your problem is similar to my brother’s) to get your open sights on line.
I personally don’t like having both types of sights. My 7600 is set up to be used with a scope; Monte Carlo stock and the open sights are completely removed. My scope is a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5 to 5x mounted on the lowest rings Leupold makes. I’m not worried about needing another sight on the gun because the gun itself will most likely fail before the scope does! That said, I am currently in the market for a back-up/foul weather 760/7600 carbine that will carry a regular stock with ghost ring (aperture) sights…

When I line up with the rear and then the front sight the "v" is aligned up with the bottom of the front sight or the base. In order to get proper sight picture would moving the rear ramp sight up solve the problem so I could sight in correctly?

With the high comb stock of the 7600 (760 had an all purpose stock), you will probably need to shave down the comb with a rasp until your eye lines up properly in the sight picture. The monte carlo stock is not open sight friendly, unfortunately.

Shaving down the comb is one way to go or, you could put higher sights on it.  I bought a 7600 with a Monte Carlo comb a few years ago.  The comb was the right height for a low-mounted scopt but a little too high for the iron sights that I wanted to use.  I bought a Model 700 ramp and installed a higher-than-normal Williams fire sight bead on it.  I then installed the Model 700 sight hood to protect the bead.  On the rear I installed the Williams WGRS receiver sight with a .125" twilight aperture.  This setup works perfectly and, if I ever want to install a scope, I merely remove the receiver sight and the comb of the stock will be the correct height for scope usage.

That is actually a good way as well. Saves you from all the work of refinishing the stock. What is the the part number of the fire sight you
installled? I have a fire sight installed on one of my 760 carbines and
like it alot. It is one of the lower profile sights. I would  like one for my 7600 carbine with a monte carlo stock. :sniper:

I don't remember the part number.  I think I removed the original sight, measured its total height, and then looked up and ordered one that was the next size or two higher.  The Williams catalog has some guidelines for determining the correct sight height.
I have an old model 760 on which I'm going to install a fire sight.  The original bead is way to low for use with the Williams peep sight.

My problem is that the front sight is to high. I was wondering if the WDOS from Williams would work with out changing the front sight?
