purchasing new barrel from factory
« on: March 28, 2005, 01:25:05 PM »
The Dan Wesson web site no longer lists revolver parts and prices. Two years ago I ordered a new barrel and cylinder from the web site. Now I can find no information as to what parts they offer and price or how to order. Where can I contact the factory to get information and why have they discontinued this information on their web site.

glenwood, their website is  www.danwessonfirearms.com  .  they've been purchased by CZ but say that they're still gonna make revolvers and their parts.  You'll have to call them to find out about the barrel and assembly items you need.  I don't think they have a catalogue at this time.

I bought a 414- 10" bll from them last month drilled and tapped for scope mount,1 problem though it would NOT thread into my 7414 ,so now I am trying to get everything worked out.,so far they have NOT returned emails or calls.
I do realize they were bought out by CZ but I wish they would return calls or emails.

I just got a call from Brian at Dan Wesson so progress is being made on the barrel.   sounds like the threads need to be chased.

I recently bought a 445 from DW.  Immediately thereafter I orderd an extra barrel for it which arrived in about two weeks.  No problems at all.

475/480, I'm glad you're getting things worked out with them.  They can be SO SLOW, good people just SLOW!

I anxious to hear about your range session with your new 414.  I've got a blued model however I don't have anyplace to shoot it beyound 25 yards so I don't shoot it much.

I have shot it some with the 8" bll-
 Using 210XTP,210 Nosler JHP,Also 255,295 and 305gr cast bullets.
So far the the only one that has NOT shot good is the 295gr WFNPB it might not like high velocity and pressure with the plain base, the 305 has shot very nicely at 50 yds with open sights.

I found a 1974 DW/High Standard M-14 (.357 w. fixed sights) with the 4" "pork chop" barrel a couple of months ago.  Brian had a 6" barrel in the shop.  He checked it out to be sure it was good and sent it right out.
I have no complaints about DW's service.
