I asked the same question recently.  6-48 is the size for both front and rear sights.

I called them up recently to get some filler screws for a barrel that I bought that had no sights on it when I got it. They were happy to send some out to me......right after they got my credit card number.  Maybe it depends who you get at the other end when they take your call.

wheelgun, I wish I had known that handy little tip before I paid $16.40 for two filler screws and one set of split locking lugs.

Filler screws are easily available at gun shops.  Both of the ones I use have lots of them and give them away.  Most of the time they remove them from guns when mounting scopes and keep them.  Supply far exceeds demand so the give them away.  Screws for securing sights I have to pay for, and have to go to the gun store for as well.  Hardware stores there have a great selection of carriage bolts, but not much in small, fine threaded screws.  There is only one sorce that I know of for locking bolts, and you identified it.

I also use the "recycled" filler screws, personally I prefer the brass ones. Much easier to fit if they are a little to long & they won't freeze up in the barrel, so removal at a later date is possible.

Like Keith said - most gunsmiths have plenty of them and if they charge you anything , it shouldn't be much .  8)
