"Scout rifle" dreaming

I've been thinking about adding a .243 barrel to go with my Ultra .308.  I would like to do a scout rifle style scope mount (much like raynor's muzzler).  Which barrel should I order?  What sort of scope mounts will I need?  Any advice on a scope?  Would look real nice with a Mannlicher style stock, eh?  Discuss........
