Got this off of the Swiss board I deleted the bottom part as that had to do with the swiss board.

The Swiss Bundesrat has decided not to export any surplus military guns and ammunition anymore.

The remaining lots in the arsenals will be scrapped during the next few months.
The sudden decision was taken because of pressure of the UN and the EU that both condemn the world wide spreading of superfluous military materials.

To avoid huge amounts of last moment exports the new measures come into force by tomorrow noon.

Exceptions will be made for military historical collections and museums, special application forms are issued to those on demand.

It is not sure what are considered "military historical collections" yet but best is to act fast in this as the Swiss do expect high amounts of exception requests from all over the world and delays in processing are to be expected.

If you want to have guns imported for you from Switzerland in the near future you need to fill in this application form to be approved as an owner of a military historical collection.

Most countries are not as wealthy as the Swiss
and cannot afford to do what they are doing.
Way more money in selling them off than in scrapping
them. All the money laundering they did for the
Nazi's left them a pretty wealthy country I guess.
I really have no Use for the Swiss if you havn't noticed.

I don't think we really suck up to the UN while the UN tries to tell us what to do we seem to go our own way anyway.  Its really the European Union thats starting to take hold and put pressure and push its views on all the rest of the UN nations.  Its just one more step towards a one world goverment.                                                            BigBill

I never bought a swiss rifle either its all about the expensive 7,5 swiss ammo and the availability of it.  I don't shoot too much '06 either for the same reason because there are plenty of cheaper other calibers to shoot and have fun with.  "I shoot more for less to save to buy more surplups" thats my motto plus I'm just down right CHEAP(frugal) too.   I have a M95 8x56 with plenty of ammo that I never shot yet too.   I have seen the k31's for sale here but they just don't do anything for me.

Bill, they probably would if you ever shot one from what I have been reading on the web according to what I have seen they are right up there with the 6.5 Swede as far as accuracy goes and all have minty looking bores. WHich is something you do not see in all milsurps as the Swiss did not use corrosive ammo so the bores are really nice. and these guns were made for accuracy as the Swiss demanded that in their rifles. WOlf will have cheap reloadable boxer primed ammo out this summer for them so the ammo situation should be a lot better. Of course there is always the 284 cases that can be used. Jim We still suck up to the UN as far as I am concerned I was disapointed the Bush did not tell them to go take a flying leap and get out of our country. I have no use for them at all. And this European Union can stick it too as far as I am concerned.  :x

He has been saying it for years, but no one seems to pay attention to ole Fred from FredsM14stocks.  The UN are doing their best to invade this country through politics, and before you know it the boys in the blue helmets will be walking our streets to "protect" us from ourselves and to benefit the "one world hypocrasy."

     jh45gun.  What we really need to worry about right now is being invaded from the south.  First, I have no problem with law abiding folks seeking a better live coming to this country legally.  What chaps my hide is the 1.7 million that cross the borders each year illegally.

Your (and my) tax dollars go to support the millions of undocumented immigrants by providing social security, medical care, schooling to folks that are in this country illegally.  Many of those who cross our sourthern borders, at will, and in most cases, unchallenged are drug dealers, gang members, convicts ans and in some cases terrorist.

Course if Bush has his way, the borders will be wide open and we will end up like Europe.  If this happens, it will only be a short period and the UN will have us under their thumb.

If you want to really educate yourself on this issue go to "tombstonetumblweed, com" the click on "Borderline.  After a little reading, I'm sure you will agree with me.

Rockbilly not saying that this is not a issue but the only way some wetback is going to get my gun is to try to take it from me Physically. THE UN has a different agenda they want to do it with political force and through ill passed laws.  Truth be known they are not going to get any of mine either if I have anything to say about it. I will say that at the moment I am afraid of the UN trying to take away my guns than some lettuce picker fresh here from down south.

I agree with S Sumer,, The Swiss are usless except to launder Nazi loot. Lets see, millions of gold fillings from teeth suddenly start showing up as the Nazi war machine rapes the poeple of  Europe. No problem for the Swiss.. It is just gold and "We Know Nothing" We are neutral and wont judge you! I dont even like swiss army knives. They stand for nothing and do nothing. I would never own a swiss firearm. If you are true to history and freedom than how can you,

Darrell, I can own a Swiss rifle just as easy I can a Russian one, A Swedish one, A Polish one, and a Turkish one and a Spanish one. Same goes for my Chinese made Walther Olympia Clone.  Since my Swede 96, Turk 38, and Spanish 95 are Mausers I suppose that  indirectly supports Germany too. The thing is I cannot afford American Made Milsurps. Not at the prices they get today. But the SWiss K31 is a masterpiece of engineering and it just darn shoots, for 90 bucks or a bit more depending on where you get it it is a bargain. Same with the Swede Mauser I have.  As long as you are into History read about the AMERICAN BUSINESS Involvement with the Nazi's before the war started. One thing has not changed "Business makes strange bed fellows" and that is as true today as it was in the 30's and 40's. Yea they quit dealing with them when the war broke out but not before. Maybe you may want to think about that the next time you buy a tank of Standard Oil at the Gas Station or some of the other companies that delt with the Nazi's The Swiss were not the only ones though they probably profited the most. I suppose I cannot blame you as I do not want a French gun at all but my reasons for that are I do not really care for them or their design and I do not care for the ammo situation. At least with the Swiss gun I can reload using 284 Brass.

I never said the swiss rifles were not good rifles. They make good watches too. the women prime USDA choice as well. Yes, you can always say we suported this govt and that govt. before this and that happened. But I find nothing in recent history as disturbing as the swiss busniess during the war. The world is a complex place and it is difficuilt to debate typing into a keyboard. They are neutral and stand for nothing. They are not trying to make the world a better place. I love the swiss, I just don't like them. I like my M1A Bush. US made and a fine rifle.Better than that piece of crap m16 I was issued. I did have a m203 greanede launcher. I felt a little safer with that. I do Have a small collection of Mausers . some made in germany and some in YUGO/Croaita. As bad as the Germans acted during world war two, atleast you knew where they were coming from. The Swiss are neither friend or Foe. They are just there. We can agree to disagree.   Take care.
