Looking at a new barrel not sure what caliber to get.
Things I do know I don't want a muzzle brake :)

Its not on your list, but my pick would be 338 VVC.  But then I prefer rimmed.

Either would be fine, but I would lean to the 284 case since it is a tad shorter to give yourself a little more actual barrel length.  If you are wanting more performance then go with the 06 case improved.
