A few questions about Beretta O/U

I am getting ready to purchase a Beretta O/U very soon. I have not yet decided on which model. I have looked at the White Onyx and the Silver Pigeon II and III. I am going to get the field model since I will use this to hunt some quail and doves. I do want to start shooting sporting clays and do a little more skeet shooting. I have a cheaper O/U with 28" tubes and feel comfortable with it. I have 26" tubes on my A-5's which I do most hunting with. I think with the shorter overall length of the O/U the 28" tubes would be a good all around choice for hunting and clays. This is what I would like to get some opinions on from guys who shoot clays. I would rather not go any longer than 28" unless it would offer some real advantage. Thanks!

For a field gun and for skeet I find 28" tubes on an O/U to be pretty near perfect. If you were in real thick cover like for grouse or woodcock 26" might be better. My White Onyx is for Sporting clays primarily with skeet a secondary use and I got 32". I kinda sorta wish I hadn't.

My older Black Onyx has the 26 inch tubes as I mostly hunt the thicker stuff. Works fine for the backyard clay shooting the kids and I do, too. I would have gone with 28" if I were doing more hunting in open fields.
