Another 1895GS finds a home,
« on: April 02, 2005, 12:18:37 PM »
On Friday, a NIB 45/70 Guide Gun (stainless) arrived at my place    . I've been looking for one for about 3 months and located the one I just "had" to own. Over the past few months I have been gathering items I would need to make this rifle come to life. New bullets, primers, powder, cases and sights. I installed the Wild West Ghost-ring rear sight and the newly assembled ammo. will be used to get me on the paper at 50 yards. I'm looking forward to the fun    .

My Guide gun really likes 405gr Rem JSP @ 1900fps.  I've had really good luck with starline brass and H322 powder.   For the big and toothy stuff the 405gr kodiak will print to the same place with the same load.  You can't beat the guide guns.
