.204 hi pressure ?

check out these hi pressures  www.rugerhunting.com/204_data_hodgdon.php  Isn't 40,000 considered max. for the contender some of these min. loads would be way over max. for the contender what am i missing ?? what would factory 204 pressures be??

Max. presure isn`t the whole story with Contender. The main thing is the total presure. With a round that is small in dia. like the .222 class rounds you can run alot more psi than you can with larger dia. rounds like the .06 class because the total presure on the round is less due to it`s smaller size. Hope this makes sence to you.

Back thrust is the part you're missing.  If you loaded a .45-70 to 40000psi, you would likely damage the frame while that pressure in a .223 is nothing.

ok , what if you go to the chart link and pick a min starting load of 25.5 grs. of H322 with 32 gr. v-max bullet , pressure is 48,000 would that be over the max. for a contender at 40,000 the difference here isn't the fact that psi and (cup) copper units of pressure are different are they. Ive
 been loading for probably 30 yrs.  ,I don't ever look up pressure , I just start at min and work up , so this question never came up.
