Quick idea on Deerstalker value
« on: April 03, 2005, 03:35:57 AM »
I may be selling off a rifle or two to pick up an HK 630.

I just got this thing last year and have only shot one deer with it so far.  I picked up an encore for use with a rifle barrel, but it means I do have a 209x50 to use and I don't know that I need two muzzleloaders.

Anyone want to give an idea on a used price for a stainless deerstalker with a fiber front sight installed, and a rear lyman peep?

I would think in mint shape should be able to get $250.00 and that will include the shipping
Midsouth has them new for $290.00,the lyman sight has to go for $50.00 new or better with the front fiberoptic sight
I seen a lot of guys split the rifle on e bay and for some strange reason the rifle sell more on e bay ,then what they are really worth. :D

Are you saying pull the sights, put it back to stock and sell it on eBay?  Not sure what you mean... Or do you mean break the thing down to all component pieces and sell them off?

I would think the barrel and stock sights@ramrod on one auction ,stock and hardware on another auction, and the peep sights on yet another auction, you can put a reserve on the starting price and let the bidders go from there. :D

What he's saying Carp is; E-bay can/will not allow the sale of a fully functional fire arm, they have liability issues,,(it's in the fine print).
So what folks do is list their arm as described minus the trigger and nipple, and say: "This firearm is non functional as is,there is no trigger assembly or nipple". (ya gotta say that)
 Then listed just below the firearm, missing the trigger assembly is;

Another listing for:,  trigger that will fit--(name a bunch of tc arms)-- ,,(get it?)

Anybody that knows can find their own 1/4x28 nip.

Replacement triggers for the t/c are 40, set the price for the trigger at 35 and what ever ya want for minimum bid for the rifle sans trigger. I think lo9newolf is leading you right,,I'd bid myself but being a trad shooter the "stainless" just don't fit well, know what I mean? luck to ya.
i'm a realist. i've not seen it all, but man ,,I've Been Around the block once or twice

Thanks for that e-bay info.

Kinda wild since we know that BP's don't require an FFL to sell or buy.

But, they set the rules, and I can live with that.

I'm getting set to probably first post these across a few boards (GB, THR, AR-15, etc).

The tough part for the rifles (10/22,sks,742) is that they are low-priced guns and shipping/ffl adds to the cost.

Just have to get off my butt and do it. :)

Hi Carphunter, I did send you a PM but not sure if you will get it or not. So what I want to say is that if you decide to sell this rifle please let me know. I might be interested in buying it.
Thanks
