OK guys with the NEF's in 270 caliber. What are your groups with this caliber and what handloads do the like in it or factory rounds? I am thinking of getting one for a truck gun.

I have a couple .270 barrels, I've only shot one of em though cuz the other's frame is at H&R for another barrel. The non-compensated barrel shoots 1½", 5 shot, 100yd groups with the 130gr rem core-lokts and I expect with some load tuning, it would shoot even better... :wink:

Thanks for your reply quickdtoo. I would like for others to reply too so I could get an idea of the average accuracy potential of this caliber in a handi rifle.

i get about the same with factory and about an inch with handloads

I'm in there with quick and mitchell. About 1" - 1 1/2". It does real well with the rem 130 gr. core-lokts. Try to stay away from the heavier grain bullets handis tend to like the lighter grain bullets.

I am really pleased with my .270 - it gets groups from 1"-1 1/4" with the factory 130 gr. core-lokts and that's good enough for me! :grin:
