black powder gun smiths

any one know of a black powder gun smith that will actually work on a blackpowder gun all the ones i contact say they only make bbls or something else i cant find one to replace an old broken spring because they would have to make it now i ask you is that not part of being a smith what im looking for is someone that will fix even a small problem and dosent care that those old guns  are to nasty to mess with! where does every-one else have there b/p guns repaired i want that address in my book too :gulp:  :cry:  sometimes ya just gotta say---------help me

With a lot of smith's the problem is economics.  To come out the price they have to charge for 'making' a spring is so high people get irrate, so they just pick a specialty and refuse those kind of jobs..  Also there is the work flow.  If a smith is mainly a barrelmaker, his stopping to produce a spring for you might cost hundreds in lost production..  Your best bet is to find an ameture smith or someone who still does general smithing..there's few of us left..  What spring were you needing replaced. Who made the lock..

I have some which my work,no charge other than postage.If you could send a digital picture of where the spring would go maybe I have a spring that would work?
