I just bought a pound of IMR 4895 and found it to be in a new round plastic bottle. It looked just like the bottle H322 I got at the same time.

When did they change from the metal "can" to the plastic bottle?

IMR is owned by Hodgdon now so I am not surprised.  It probably saved them a few pennies per unit.  I'll miss those cans, they fit so neatly in my cabinet :(

I use primarily Hodgdon propellants & wish they would have done the vice-versa. Hodgdon should have changed all THEIR packaging to the IMR-style CANS, period !
Easier to store, and look better, ta boot ! :evil:
I would GLADLY pay the extra two bits for the metal can instead of the cheap plastic keg & think most others would too !
Unless one is an extremely high-volume shooter, I know of NOBODY that chooses their propellant based on price...everyone I know chooses based on what works best (usually highest velocity or best accuracy) for their application.

The cans do store better, but it's quite dificult to get that last few grains out of the can.

I gotta agree, I like the cans better.  The colors help out with grabbing the right one and they do store so much better.   Say, with the H-bottles there should be no reason why you cannot pour several bottles of the same powder into one, and save space, is there?

That’s too bad. I really like the cans. I haven’t bought a 1 pound can in years, I buy 8 pound cans and refill the 1 pound cans as I need to. I still have a few 1 pound cans that are labeled Dupont IMR.

I would imagine that Hodgdon makes their 8 pound cans round too. Damn! That sure burns up a lot of space in the reloading cabinet.

Have any of you tried the new IMR-7828 Super Short Cut (SSC)?  I'm interested in trying it with the .280 Remington and .270 Winchester with heavy bullets and 24-inch barrels.  It should also work well in the new WSM and SAUM cartridges.
