Find the post about brunishing the barrel I was a doubter but it works. It not only straighten up the pattern to point of aim it tighten the pattern don't remember what the shote was in the kill zone but it was more than enough.

aftermarket choke tube***Comp n Choke xxxfull***around $50.00
***forcing cone lenghtened***cost me $30.00
very good patterns out to 50yds after these things were done.before that the gun was only good to 30yds :x
the gun shoots good with lead shot too
as far as im concerned the stock tube is JUNK and as far as the forcing cone issue that could be a problem on any shotgun barrel.if you want a great patterening NEF 10ga you might as well plan on spending the extra money on the gun.

I agree that the gun out of the box should not be fired at a turkey beyond 30 yards. I've had one for 3 years now and lost 2 birds the first year that would have fallen to any other shotgun I own. Since, have limited shots to less than 30 yards and am 6x6 with it. Ordered a Kick's Gobblin Thunder replacement tube that showed up 3 days after the season opened and I'd limited out that morning--so haven't even fired it. They should sell the gun w/o a choke tube on it--IMHO.

On my Nef 10 Ga. I'm shooting the comp-n-choke xx full choke and I'm getting 212-220 pelets into a 10 in. paper plate at 40 ydrs. Acording to thier web site its a .675 resrtiction. The performance was greatly improved by burishing the bore. It lined up the point of aim with the point of impact. And it tightened the pattern up also.
Hope this helps.

It's a .690--I'll let you know how it does once I take it to the range.
