NEF/H&R EXCELLENT Customer Service!!!
« on: April 07, 2005, 01:51:58 PM »
Exactly 3 weeks ago today I UPS shipped my .223 Ultra Varmint receiver back to NEF to be fitted with a .22 Hornet barrel.  In addition, I had included a parts order for some parts I needed for another project,... I also asked for a trigger job and,... I asked that they remove the open sights from the .22 Hornet barrel and attach an Ultra scope rail.

First of all,... I GOT IT BACK TODAY!!!  That's exactly 3 weeks including the round trip shipping and it's a minimum 2-3 day ship one way.

Secondly,... no charge for the trigger job which I understand is normal.  But,.. no charge to remove the open sights and install the scope rail.  And,.. NO CHARGE for the Ultra scope rail and hammer spur!  So it was $82 for the barrel and rail + $15 fitting + $10 shipping.

I'm thrilled!  Hats off to NEF/H&R!!!!! :toast:

Hmm.  I got mine back last week.  It took 7.5 weeks from the day I shipped it out.  They fitted one barrel in stock and did a trigger job.  What's up with the difference in time?

Oh, they also charged me $100 for the 223 Ultra barrel.  I called the same day that I shipped it off and they said $93 even though the web site said $87.  I just checked the web site again and now it says $100.  Hello?  And my trigger is HEAVIER now than it was when I sent it to them.  They did shorten the length of pull, and it's crisp, but heavier.   No charge for the trigger job.

Tell you the truth, I like the rifle but I'm not real impressed with their service.  No more of that for me.  Next NEF I get will be a complete rifle.

Yikes!! :?

My trigger pull is definitely lighter and seems to be more crisp as well.

I did just notice that I had ordered, and paid for, two of a particular part and ony one was sent.  I'll call them in the morning but for what they did for me, the $3 for the extra part doesn't even matter to me other than I need the part

I sent mine in for a barrel and trigger, and I don't know that I can tell the diference in the trigger, but I'm glad they can fit an Ultra barrel on a Handi. That extra length looks cool.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens
