I assume you're refering to the FireFly?  If so, I have one on my 3200 Elite 1.5X4.5 that sits on my A-Bolt 12 ga.  

For a whitetail slug gun, I love it.  Just shine a little light on it for 60 seconds or so and it glows green for roughly an hour & a half to two hours.  Great for dawn/dusk.  

For something that requires more precision at greater distances (i.e. a varmint gun), I'd go with a true lit reticle.  The cross hairs on the FireFly are a little bit thicker than normal.

I love Elite 4200s, but I hate the Elite 4200 2.5x-10x-50mm Illuminated with 30mm tube.  Why?  The electronic dot is just a bunch of BS on this scope - it is VERY VERY faint - even at it's highest setting.  Yes, the optics are awesome, but the illuminated dot is, IMHO, a waste of time and money.  I think that's why Bushnell went with the Firefly.

well i dont know what he was looking through when he said it wasnt any good,but mine is alwsome,and it lights up very bright ,and its accurate to,best scope iv ever looked through,and its brighter than the standerd 4200 series... :wink:

The 30 mm tube has 1 inch guts. Thats what the optic zone told me when I was inquiring about buying this scope. I ended up going with a zeiss conquest from the optic zone. Ive heard mixed opinions about this scope. But dont see how you could go wrong when you can try it for a year and send it back if you dont like it.
