man what a difference between them and the new ones.  the flat top reminded me of my freedom arms.  tight lock up,  good trigger, and the cylinder covers the whole case.    they have definatley gone downhill.  i really thought about buying that one.   but i think my ruger buying cays are over.

Oh, the Three Screws are much nicer than the New Models and it doesn't even have to be a Flat Top. I had a Three Screw 357 made in 1972 and it was head and shoulders above a New Model.

.44 Flattop a Winner

My .44 Flattop is one of the most accurate revolvers I've ever owned.  I dearly love to place a coffee can at the 100 yard berm and smack it regularly with the open sights.  I get a lot of rifle shooters who take notice when I do it off hand!

Please don't throw anything but I like the NM best. I have one made in each of the following years, 1973, 1974??, and 1976. I really like the transfer bar of the NM and do not like the click, click, click of the OM.  I can relate that they are great. I had a 3 screw .357 that was one fine sixgun but like my NM's best, just a personal thing. This is one of my favorites.

I really have nothing against the 3 screws. The first I owned was a NM and I grew used to it. I've owned 5 NM Ruger all total and consider them as fine a sixgun as I need. Then came the 3 screw and I couldn't adjust. BTW lisa1lacy2, nice picture.

What kind of scope mount is on the stainless gun in the picture?  That looks very clean.  Who drilled and tapped the receiver?  How many holes?  Do you like it?

I haven't, but would use either of these Rugers. 357 is about 1957 I think. I was told the aftermarket ivories were not a good idea?  Well I did it anyway. :D

the 44 wears her own Ivory as well :D

I have NO idea what the big space is at the bottom?? ANYONE??

I coulda written that post myself cause that's exactly how I feel and what I like to do at the range. Since my post above I picked up three more 44 flat tops and a couple of other old model shooters that'll get flat topped along with some other touches. I'd also like to find a USFA Flat Top Target someday.
