i had my Stevens 87B at my smiths because an extractor popped loose, and i talked him into taking some pics as well. turns out it needed a new plunger and spring too.he had a mount that fit it and threw in an old scope as well. i told you this thing looked new!

Very nice.  Looks like new.  Mine is a bit more shabby with it's dark oiled stock, but is still in very good condition.  What scope mount did he use?

Interesting I wonder how old yours is if it needed a mount as mine had the reciever grooved for scope rings.

Old model 87 and Savage model 6 (same rifle) were not grooved for scopes.  I they started grooving them with the newer model when the ugly tapered plastic receiver plug cover was introduced.  Mine only has two holes near the receiver plug for a rear aperture sight.

not sure of the scope, it's one my smith had lying around so he threw it in with the mounts. it's a 7/8 tube, never heard of that. i'll get it back in 2-3 weeks so i'll know then. it looks to pretty big for a rimfire scope.
