Dan Wesson 7414 Pistol Pack II- 41 Super Mag
« on: April 11, 2005, 06:19:25 AM »
This is the gun I have been waiting on,the case is very well made.
The gun comes with 4,6,8" bll tools and xtra's,I bought a 10" bll seperate from DW,the 8 and 10" bll are drilled and tapped for scope mounts the mounts are from Weigand.
I have put about 200 rounds thru it so far 210gr XTP and Noslers,255,295 and 305gr Cast WFN's.The gun shoots very well with open sights, the DW like's heavy bullets so far.

I will try to post a picture of the case later.

Wow Sean, what a great looking outfit.  It sounds like you got all the barrel options.  I don't have any 10" barrels for my guns, just up through the 8" barrels.  I look forward to a more detailed range report when you get the time.

Ain't that sumtin!  I've got to tell you that this DW stuff is looking like the cure for "Contenderitis".  That is a sweet thing you've got there.  Have been thinking that I really really ought to have a .41 to go with the .357 SuperMag.  That one you've got would do just fine.  If you decide to part with it don't let someone like Rolltide have it.  Give me a chance!

Seriously, that's a really fine piece of iron and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest!  41's are special.

Hey Mayor,
No fair pulling rank on me like that.  LOL  It doesn't matter, I don't think wild horses could drag that gun out of Sean's hands.  The current company is doing some really beautiful work.

Between the 3 of us, we have the entire Supermag set, except the 375 Supermag.  I had a chance to pick up one of those for $375, but at the time I just did not the money.  It would be great to have one of each.

In my experience 414 Supermags are really rare on the used market.  Your best bet is to order one from the factory like Sean did.

Best bet is ,go to the website and look for a dealer in your area, that is what I did.Took about 9 weeks for delivery on a 7414 Pistol Pack.

Also Starline has the brass,I am not sure how much they have or if they will ever produce more.
UPDATE: I called Starline about the 414 brass they said it is a regular production item,so no problems in future.

Shot the 7414-10" bll this weekend using 295gr WFNPB.
295gr WFNPB-Powder WC 680-28.0gr,Primers WLR, at 1390 fps this load shoots into 2.5" at 50 yds.Not bad for open sights, very little recoil lots more practice to do .
