Specifying . . .

1.  Rifle make, model and caliber
2.  Reloading recipe

What is the ONE most consistenly accurate load you have ever had?  The one that if you absolutely had to put money on the table for accuracy you would compete with at 100 yds etc... Bolt rifle, lever, pump, semi auto etc...

Federal cases

7/8 inch 5-shot groups at 100 yards  
rifle has not been modified in any way

Well. this topic makes me cry a little :oops: I once owned a Remington 788 in .222 that would shoot Sierra 52 grain match bullets intot .3-.5" 5 shot groups all day.  That load was with 25.0 grains of WW 748 in Winchester cases, CCI 400 primers. The gun had never been tinkered with, and was scoped with a $60.00 Tasco 3-12x scope! Needed a scope for a slug gun, so I traded it even up for Leupold 1-4x VariX-II scope. I have never owned another gun that would shoot like that!

If I am calm, relaxed and by my self  this set up will put 3 shots into the same hole.  But after 3 shots my concentration is gone and I never get to 5 shots.  Never have been able to do this before but for some reason with this set up I think it must be someone else shooting the group whenever I see it. :lol:

Rem 700, 30-06. IMR 4350 (I have to look it up every time I load, nearing max but not quite) 165 gr Nosler Partition. WW primers, mixed brass.  Three shot groups, 3/4" at 100 yds hitting 2 1/4" high and 1/4 right.  The group hasn't changed 1/4" in 25 years.

Many five shot groups that are very small......got one here on my desk that measures .338"

Sorry, I don't do .308.  .30 Carbine, .30-06 and .300 Winchester are my 30 caliber choices.  Will look through the closets next time I am in the mood to see if I have any pictures of those.

I will have to take some pics of my targets shot many .250" groups the best was .133" 5 shot groups :D

Savage Model 12FLVSS in .22-250

50 grain Hornady VMax
39.0 grains W760 powder
CCI 200 primer
I've used a variety of cases

H380 & IMR4064 also perform well, but not as well as the W760.  The VMax bullets group a little tighter than equal weight Nosler ballistic tips.  Haven't tried Sierra BlitzKings yet.  Also haven't tried Varget powder yet.
