The trigger is fully adjustable and can be easily turned down. I would advise caution and to never lower the trigger pull past 3 pounds or so. The link below will show you the screws and what they adjust.. Test the rifle well after any adjustment and keep the wd40 and 3-in-one away from the mechism.. The bottom front screw adjusts the trigger return spring tension and thus the majority of the pull weight. The top front screw is the overtravel adjustment. If you're the least bit unsure ask questions or take it to a smith.. Done incorrectly it is possible to create a dangerous situation..

All Remington 700 type triggers have a spring in them that would work well in the front of a large truck! Thank you lawyers! You can and probably should change that spring as if you do not your light pull may not insure trigger return which means the rifle could fire as the bolt is closed. This might bother you a bit you know or your hunting partners!!!! If you change the spring work the bolt as fast as you can and slam it and check every thing and also pay attention to what gunnut said. Some of the more recent Remington triggers will not safely go below 4 pounds so check everything and be safe!!!!

Judson,
Is there a source for a variety of springs so that you can do what you say for Rem, Win and Ruger, etc,

Various spring selections and groups are available from Brownells and from some of the makers such as Wolff.
