Sight pusher.....?
« on: April 13, 2005, 11:35:50 AM »
I got a need for a sight pusher....the kind you use to move or remove a dovetailed sight from a barrel or ramp. Only, being a yankee, i'm to cheap to spring 45 to 70 dollars for one. There's got to be some way of fabricating/rigging one at home. Right now I got a beam clamp, used for electrical conduit, in my hand,,mmmmmm?  Anybody ever make a homemade sight pusher that works?

I've done those before, all you need to do is make sure the ramp is supported, can be tricky, but it works. Getting the dovetail sight insert out is harder than pressing one in, to install one, I use my dremel vise, works like a charm once it gets started. I looked all over for an inexpensive or home made sight pusher, never found one, so I just used a little yankee enginuity, it works and has worked for many. Some of the reviews on the inexpensive sight pushers I found weren't very encouraging, either.

Here's one I developed to work on Mosins and Enfields.Custom pushers for a Handi is something I haven't considered as of yet.It would be possible for me to manufacture a custom run for perhaps a group buy or you could modify one of these for your own particular rifle. In the case of a custom run the cost would be higher than the normal cost of $20 shipped and would be dependent on the number ordered

TM,I thought beyond the milsurp rifles but there are so many different sight heights that I just haven't perfected one yet that will work on everything although I am working on it .
Also I have kinda had my hands full getting this model manufactured and marketed and in front of people who had need of it.
I guarantee these for life and I have not had one come back in the year I have had them on the market.
