Scope problems!

I have been trying to mount a scope on my RWS Diana for about a month. I have tried 2 different scopes. No matter what I do or adjust, the gun shoots low. I turn the elevation all the way up and it still shoots low. Anyone have this problem? It is frustrating.

Yep. Its called barrel droop. The boreline is pointed down a bit from the centerline of the scope rails. Most breakbarrel springers need to use droop compensating adjustable mounts. Beeman makes a good adjustable mount for this purpose, as does BKL. A good adjustable mount will allow you to set your scope close to your zero while keeping the turret settings at optical center. Once the scope is close, use the turret adjustments to fine tune.

There is also the RWS C-Mount(made for RWS rifles) available in either the one piece, item #230 0575 or two piece, item #230 0575 that will cure your problem.  You can get them and other adjustable mounts from places like AirGun Express, Pyramyd Air, etc.  Do yourself a favor by take a tip from one that used them and stay away from B-Square mounts.  You’ll be money ahead.  Lawdog

If you get the RWS C mount, get the screw upgrade from Airgun Express.
Extra large screw heads allow for more torque to hold things in place.
Lap the rings well & use loc-tite.
Wrap 1 layer masking tape around scope at rings.
My model 48 took a bit of effort to tame the hard kicks effect on the scope & mount.
It's held zero for quite a while now.

Bear in mind, also, that you can't use just any scope on a spring-powered airgun ... especially the higher-powered ones.  The 2-way shock of the springer's piston just knocks apart regular scopes (except maybe Leupolds); the internal bracing of the lenses, etc., isn't made to handle it.  You really need a scope made specifically for airgun use.  I'd hate to have you sort out the mount problem, then have your scope fall apart.

So very true.  Price has nothing to do with scope quality and whether or not they will work on a magnum powered springer rifle.  I talked to one of the technicians at Beeman a number of years ago who put a high dollar Swarovski scope on a Beeman Kodiak .25 caliber.  The scope broke after about 100 shots.  He said his real problem came about when he wrote Swarovski and told them what  happened.  He was informed that he had misused the scope and thus voided the warrantee.  Even the wrong Leupold will break if mounted on an air rifle(been there and done that myself).  If your choice of scope doesn't say "Air rifle Approved"(not just Rim Fire Approved as some do) then you are looking at trouble.  Lawdog
